Day 0: Arrival and Transfers

Pick-up at Kilimanjaro International Airport, then transfer to Moshi at the hotel you will stay. Your accommodation will be at Maridadi Hotel before and after the climbing. A tour briefing will be conducted at the lodge in Moshi by your guide and gear check up.

Day 1: Moshi – Londorossi Gate (2,100m) to Mti Mkubwa Camp (2,650m)

Your Kilimanjaro adventure begins with a drive to Londorossi Gate for registration. After a quick check-in and briefing, you’ll continue by vehicle to the trailhead. From there, you’ll start your hike through lush rainforest, a peaceful trail with the chance to see blue monkeys and colobus monkeys along the way. After a few hours, you’ll arrive at Mti Mkubwa Camp for your first night under the stars.

Day 2: Mti Mkubwa Camp (2,650m) to Shira 1 Camp (3,610m)

Today, the trail climbs out of the rainforest and into moorland. You’ll notice the vegetation thinning out and the views opening up as you cross into the Shira Plateau — one of the most unique landscapes on Kilimanjaro. You’ll settle into Shira 1 Camp by late afternoon with sweeping views of the mountain behind you.

Day 3: Shira 1 Camp (3,610m) to Moir Hut (4,200m)

Today’s trek takes you across the vast Shira Plateau, one of the oldest parts of the mountain. You’ll pass Shira 2 Camp and continue toward the quieter and more remote Moir Hut. This camp sits in a peaceful valley, great for acclimatization. It’s a longer hike, but the scenery and solitude are worth it.

Day 4: Moir Hut (4,200m) to Buffalo (Pofu) Camp (4,020m)

After breakfast, you’ll climb out of the Moir Valley and, if you’re up for it, take an optional detour to the top of Little Lent Hill (4,375m) to boost your acclimatization. Then the trail turns north around the mountain, offering panoramic views of Kenya’s lowlands. You’ll finish the day at Buffalo Camp, tucked into a quiet ridge with incredible views.

Day 5: Buffalo Camp (4,020m) to Rongai Third Cave Camp (3,800m)

A more relaxed day of hiking lies ahead as the trail continues around the mountain’s northern slopes. The landscape is drier and more rugged here. You’ll reach Third Cave Camp by early afternoon, giving you time to rest and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.

Day 6: Third Cave (3,800m) to School Hut (4,800m)

Today’s trek steadily climbs toward your final base camp before summit night. As you make your way across the high desert saddle between Mawenzi and Kibo, you’ll feel the altitude more strongly — but this steady gain is key to successful acclimatization. School Hut is quieter than other summit camps, giving you a calm environment to rest and prepare for the big push.

Day 7: Summit Day – School Hut (4,800m) to Uhuru Peak (5,895m) to Millennium Camp (3,950m)

You’ll wake around midnight and start your summit climb by headlamp. This is the toughest part of the journey — steep, cold, and high — but also the most rewarding. After passing Gilman’s Point and Stella Point, you’ll reach Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa at 5,895 meters. After celebrating with photos and soaking in the sunrise, you’ll begin the long descent to Millennium Camp for a well-earned rest. This is a long and emotional day — but one you’ll never forget.

Day 8: Millennium Camp (3,950m) to Mweka Gate (1,640m)

Your final day on the mountain is a gentle descent through lush forest. The air thickens with every step, and the sounds of birds and rushing streams return. Once you arrive at Mweka Gate, you’ll receive your summit certificate and say goodbye to your mountain team. From here, a vehicle will take you back to Moshi for a hot shower and a well-deserved rest.
