21 Days Tanzania and Zanzibar Beach Tour

DAY 1 – Arrival in Tanzania

After arriving at the Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) you will meet and greet our representative who will warmly welcome you. They will transfer you to Mvuli Hotel in Arusha for dinner and relaxation after your long flight. Welcome to Tanzania!

DAY 2 – Tarangire National Park

Today we begin our safari program with our destination being Tarangire national park. Our guide will pick you up in the safari jeep and head to Tarangire National Park. During the 2.5-hour drive you will enjoy the beautiful nature, varied landscapes and local villages. When we arrive in Tarangire you will do a game drive for the rest of the day. You also enjoy a picnic lunch near the river while watching animals drink water.

Tarangire is known for its large elephant population, baobab trees and tree-climbing African pythons. The park takes its name from the river that flows across the length of the park.

DAY 3 – Tarangire National Park – Cultural Visit

Cultural tour day!

Today you and the family can have an early morning sunrise game drive in the national park and see the animals as they search for food early morning. Afterwards you will return to the lodge for a lovely breakfast/ brunch and refreshment.

Then you will proceed to visit a Maasai village to learn more about the famous warrior tribe and their culture. Then you will proceed to the local village called Mto wa Mbu to visit the local market and banana plantations. You will be able to have a locally prepared lunch here cooked by local women participating in a self-help program.

DAY 4 – Serengeti National Park

Today we go to the famous Serengeti!

After breakfast we will depart for Serengeti National Park and we should arrive around noon time. On Our first day in Serengeti, we will do Game Drives in the Seronera area known for big cats and hyenas. Enjoy an afternoon game drive in the endless plains of the Serengeti where you will see Lions, leopards, cheetahs, hyena, the great herds of wildebeest, zebras, giraffes and gazelles or a herd of elephants lounging in the shade.

Dinner and overnight at the luxurious Serengeti Serena Safari Lodge.

DAY 8 – Transfer to Zanzibar

Today you will take a local flight to Zanzibar Island. Arriving in Zanzibar, our driver will drive you to the beautiful Tembo hotel where you will relax and rest for the day after spending 6 days in the bush.

DAY 9 – Stone Town and Spice tour

Stone town tour
After breakfast, our guide will pick you from the hotel by foot and begin an adventure tour of Stone Town. Stone Town is the center of Zanzibar culture. You will see the lavishly decorative buildings and huge intricately carved doors. The guide will walk with you towards the famous slave market, where nowadays the Anglican Church stands and sometimes called “the House of Wonders”.

You will break for lunch or snack at any restaurant of your choice in Stone Town. This tour last for three hours. If you start at 10:30 am, you will walk for an hour and half and break for lunch at 12 noon and resume for an hour walk at 1 pm. You will return to your hotel in stone town for refreshment and rest before you begin your afternoon spice plantation tour.

Spice tour

In days past, Zanzibar was known as a spice island, exporting cloves, vanilla, nutmeg, and cardamom across the world. The spices were originally brought over from Asia and South America and flourished in the tropical climate. Nowadays, the plantations are a tribute to the island’s past, and although not a main industry anymore, they are a fascinating tourist attraction and a wonder for the senses. Walkthrough the spice farm with your guide. Touch, smell and taste different spices and tropical fruits. Try to guess which is which, from the crushed leaves, the fruit, shoots, and vines and creepers crawling up to the trees. Learn about their properties, their origins, and their uses as medicines and in food and drinks. A visit to a spice farm village gives you an insight into local life and gives you the opportunity to try some authentic Swahili dishes, taste the fruits in season and try some spiced tea. Depending on the season, you can find anything from vanilla, cardamom, cinnamon, nutmeg, turmeric, lemongrass, cloves, cumin, garlic, ginger, coriander, pepper, allspice, tamarind, jackfruit, custard fruit, orange, star fruit, banana, pineapple, tangerine, passion fruit, mango, avocado pear, papaya, grapefruit and many others.
