3 Days Zanzibar Beach Tour

Detailed Full Itineray

You will be picked up from Kilimanjaro Airport by Mj Safaris Guide and driven to your Accommodation in Moshi town

Meals: Dinner

Accommodation: The Maridadi Hotel

One hour’s drive from Arusha lies the gate to the Machame route, where we complete park formalities, meet our crew of porters, and start to climb! The first section of the route climbs

steadily and passes through magnificent, dense rainforest. This path is less well-trodden, so it can get somewhat overgrown in places, and it is often wet and muddy underfoot.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Accommodation: Machame Camp

Our route continues on up through the forest until we reach the steep ascent onto the Shira Plateau, where there are rewarding views of the mountain. Looking back, you will be

able to see Mt Meru rising high above Moshi town in the distance.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Accommodation: Shira Camp

Today will be a day for ups and downs. You will ascend almost 700m but descend again after reaching the imposing Lava Tower (4640m). This will help with acclimatisation as you will reach a height of over 4,500 m. You will move through different vegetation zones. After reaching Lava Tower, the path traverses Barranco Valley, dotted with the weird-looking senecios. Barranco Camp is reached after 6 – 7 hours. Considered the most beautiful camp on the mountain, the camp is situated just below the imposing Barranco Wall. Rest and refuel tonight.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Accommodation: Barranco Camp

The first section of today’s route is to scale the ‘Barranco Wall’. Use your hands and feet. Safety is paramount, and you will be secured if necessary, but it looks more daunting than it actually is. The trail continues with many up and down sections, crossing a few streams, winding and climbing, stopping for lunch in the Karanga Valley. After lunch, there will be another 2 – 3 hours climb before you reach Barafu Camp (4640m). Tonight, drink a lot of fluids, try to eat, and go to bed early to rest enough before tomorrow’s summit trek.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Accommodation: Barafu Camp

You will be woken in the midnight hours with a cup of tea and a biscuit. Dressed warmly and equipped with a headlight and your daypack, you will set off in the darkness. After 5 – 7 hours of ‘pole pole’, you will reach the rim of the crater, Stella Point. Another one to two hours of going slowly along the crater’s edge, and you will arrive at the summit – Uhuru Peak (5895m). Looking down over the surrounding landscape below in the early morning light will make you feel on top of the world. You have now reached the ‘Roof of Africa’. The descent should be easy but dusty, as the volcanic ash will now have defrosted. Returning on the same route, you should arrive at Barafu Camp within a few hours, where the porters are waiting with food and tea. Resting for an hour or two, you will continue down to reach Mweka Camp (3080m) for your overnight stay.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Accommodation: Mweka Camp

A gentle trek takes us down through the rainforest to Mweka Gate, where we complete park formalities and receive certificates, which you can hang up with pride! We are then

met by our vehicles and return to the hotel in Arusha, where you can treat yourself to a welcome shower, then celebrate with cold drinks. Overnight at your arranged Hotel in Moshi.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Accommodation: The Maridadi Hotel

You’ll depart from Moshi after breakfast for the approximately 3-hour drive to Tarangire National Park. Along the way, you’ll pass bustling Maasai villages and the vast, open plains that have become synonymous with images of Africa. Tarangire National Park, where you could have a chance to see groups of Elephants, Giraffe, Lions, and many more. Overnight at the lodge.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Accommodation: Farm Of Dreams Lodge

After breakfast, you will be picked up from the camp/lodge and driven to the plains of Serengeti. After you arrive, proceed on a game drive in the wilderness, tracking and spotting the wildlife. In the evening, drive to the lodge for evening leisure and overnight. Witness a million of wildebeests, each one driven by the same ancient rhythm, fulfilling its instinctive role in the inescapable cycle of life: a frenzied three-week bout of territorial conquests and mating; survival of the fittest as 40km (25 miles) long columns plunge through crocodile-infested waters on the annual exodus in Serengeti National Park, later drive to the camp/lodge for dinner and overnight.

Overnight at Katikati Tented Camp

You will have a morning game drive in Serengeti National Park. Then the safari to Ngorongoro Conservation Area. It will have the option to visit Maasai Boma for a cultural tour. Make an exploration of traditional ways of life, including dancing, norms, and values. Later, proceed with our safari to the camp/lodge. You will have a long rest overnight at the camp/lodge in the Ngorongoro Area.

Overnight at Embalakai Ngorongoro Camp

You will have a morning game drive in Serengeti National Park. Then the safari to Ngorongoro Conservation Area. It will have the option to visit Maasai Boma for a cultural tour. Make an exploration of traditional ways of life, including dancing, norms, and values. Later, proceed with our safari to the camp/lodge. You will have a long rest overnight at the camp/lodge in the Ngorongoro Area.

Overnight at Embalakai Ngorongoro Camp

After breakfast at your accommodation, you will start to drive to Ngorongoro Crater. Arriving at the edge of the crater in the afternoon, you will have your first glimpse of what awaits you the following day: glistening streams, open grassland, and an infinite number of animals. Formed millions of years ago, it is 610 m deep and covers roughly 260 square kilometers. Due to its dense animal population of approximately 25,000, the crater offers the best game viewing of all the parks in Tanzania. In a matter of minutes, you will be able to see wildebeest, zebras, gazelles, elephants, and some of the more than 500 bird species in the area. With a little bit of luck, you might catch a glimpse of the endangered black rhino horns, peeking through the grass. After lunch, you will ascend the steep walls of the crater and head to Moshi Town, where the tour ends.
